Do I need an account before I can ship freight?
false
Yes, you do need to open an account to ship with us. If you need assistance at any point in the process, call 1.866.FXF.4LTL.
How can I create a freight shipment?
false

For U.S. freight shipments, you have two options:

To ship freight to Canada or Mexico, you can still create a Bill of Lading online. But you'll also need to provide a paper copy to your FedEx Freight driver when they come to pick up your shipment. And some destinations might also require other forms.

What's the right way to pack LTL freight?
false

Shipping on pallets is the safest and most efficient approach. LTL freight ships alongside other shipments in shared trailer space, which helps keep costs down.

To get started, review our freight packaging guidelines. You'll find step-by-step instructions on preparing LTL shipments, including an overview of packaging materials commonly used for freight shipping.

What is LTL (less-than-truckload) freight shipping?
false

Shipments that are heavy (typically 150 lbs. or more) or are large enough to be palletized are generally classified as LTL freight. An LTL shipment uses only part of the space on a trailer or truck, so it's more cost-effective. With FedEx Freight, you can send LTL shipments within and between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Check out Freight Shipping 101 for a solid overview of freight shipping.

What are the main freight shipping methods?
false
  1. LTL (less-than-truckload) freight. This service is for freight that doesn't require a full trailer.
  2. FTL (full truckload) freight. This is a service for single shipments that occupy entire trucks.
