Customers may handle reporting directly, but FedEx Freight has a dedicated team that can submit the EEI for a customer upon request. This is for reporting and sharing required information only; it is not a customs transaction. To be prepared for this reporting, customers need to include Schedule B codes on their shipping documents and ensuring the commercial invoices provided are accurate. As a note, consignees within Puerto Rico are required by their local Treasury departments to pay an excise tax on all imports.
